On Aug. 21, Mercer University is launching a new University- and community-wide initiative called Be the Bear Fridays.
Every Friday, students, faculty and staff on all Mercer campuses, as well as alumni and Mercer supporters near and far, are encouraged to show their Bear pride by donning orange and black or their favorite Mercer apparel.
“Whether you are walking across campus, leading a discussion in the classroom, researching in a lab or representing Mercer hundreds of miles away, this simple act unites us as a powerful and visible family,” President Penny L. Elkins, Ph.D. said.
The University will recognize the most creative and spirited participants with a monthly award called the Toby Trophy. To participate, post a photo on social media showing off your school spirit using #BeTheBearFridays. On Instagram, also tag @merceryou in your post.
