WHY: For the past 30 years, Dr. Landau has developed and tested a model for enhancing individual, family and community resilience and has designed and taught courses in the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, trauma, cultural transition, AIDS/HIV infection and other chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The Armour Lecture Series will allow Dr. Landau to share her experience, expertise and research in directing family-oriented child, adolescent and adult programs and services.
The Armour Family Therapy Lecture Series is made possible by a gift from retired faculty members Dr. Mary Ann Armour and Dr. Rollin Armour. Dr. Mary Ann Armour retired from Mercer in 1998 as associate professor and co-director of the master’s program in family therapy, which she founded at Mercer in 1983. Dr. Rollin Armour retired in 1998 as a professor and former chair of the Christianity Department. He also served as dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 1980-84.
