Annual BEAR Day to showcase research, special projects

MACON, Ga. — Mercer University will hold its 15th annual Breakthroughs in Engagement, Arts and Research (BEAR) Day on April 10-11, on Mercer’s Macon campus to showcase outstanding student research and special projects from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Business, College of Education, School of Music, College of Health Professions and School of Engineering.

BEAR Day will feature contributions from more than 550 students, including 350 presentations and two gallery exhibitions.

“This year, we expect to display the broadest array of student projects to date,” said Dr. Erin McClenathan, BEAR Day chair and assistant professor of art history. “With such variety across a range of disciplines and formats, everyone in attendance is sure to learn something new.” 

BEAR Day 2025 Schedule Highlights:

Poster presentations
April 10, 4-6 p.m., in the University Center

The Senior Art and Design exhibition-The Next Chapter
April 10, 6 p.m., McEachern Art Center

Oral presentations
April 11, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at locations across the Macon campus
