Mercer University President William D. Underwood today announced the appointment of Bobby Pope, current director of athletics, as special assistant to the president and the first full-time executive director of the Mercer Athletic Foundation, and named State Representative and Mercer alumnus Jim Cole as director of athletics. The appointments are effective July 1.
ATLANTA - Mercer University's James and Carolyn McAfee School of Theology will partner with Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters Inc. to bring viewers in the Atlanta area an inside look at what professors teach in their classes in a new 30-minute program, airing on AIB TV. "The 30-Minute Seminary" will feature professors delivering half-hour summaries of such courses as the Old Testament, the New Testament, theology, church history, ethics and worship - 14 different subjects in all.

MACON - Mercer University, Sierra Development and Piedmont Construction Group LLC today announced plans for a $10 million mixed-use development on the University's Macon campus that will feature loft-style apartments and retail space for the Mercer Bookstore and other businesses that cater to the Mercer community and residents in the College Hill Corridor.
MACON - The Mercer University Board of Trustees today gave the green light to a mixed-use residential/retail development on the Macon campus, approved three new graduate degree programs, and authorized the University to begin offering degree programs in the Forsyth-North Fulton area of metro Atlanta and in Newnan. The board also elected nine new members to replace those trustees whose terms expire this month.
