Mercer University criminal justice and public safety leadership graduate student Ben Olson was recently awarded the 2025 Atlanta Metropol Continuing Education Scholarship, to help cover tuition and expenses for high school, undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in criminal justice and public safety.
Mercer University began its 193rd academic year by enrolling 1,130 new residential undergraduate students, a record number for the University. The Class of 2029 includes 1,016 first-time freshmen, the most in Mercer’s history and surpassing last year’s total by 24%. Another 114 transfer students enrolled this fall.

Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) and its Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center (GRHIC), with continued support from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s), are expanding their statewide rural pediatric health initiative for the third consecutive year.
