MACON, Ga. - Mercer University President William D. Underwood today announced the appointment of Brian Dalton as senior vice president for enrollment management, effective July 1. Dalton, currently vice president for enrollment management and associate academic dean for program development at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., succeeds Terry Whittum, who recently resigned to return to Florida for personal reasons.

Mercer Trustees today endorsed a new vision statement and an ambitious 10-year strategic plan for the University that calls for more than $1.2 billion in new investments in the institution's endowment, faculty and staff, facilities and technology, and academic and co-curricular programs over the next decade.
MACON - Noted political scientist Charles S. Bullock III will deliver a lecture on "Lessons from the Presidential Selection Process" at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 21, in the auditorium of the Science and Engineering Building on Mercer University's Macon campus.
ATLANTA - The McAfee School of Theology of Mercer University announced today the appointment of prominent pastor the Rev. Dr. Brett Younger to the position of associate professor of preaching, effective July 1, 2008. Younger currently serves as pastor of Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
MACON - The Women's and Gender Studies program and Mercer's Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance are inviting community members to take part in an empowerment march to end sexual violence. The event is part of "Take Back the Night" and will begin at 7 p.m., when participants will gather at Third Street Park, march down Cherry and Magnolia Streets, and end with a candlelight vigil in Washington Park in downtown Macon. During the vigil, survivors, supporters and advocates are encouraged to help break the silence about sexual violence and speak out about their own experiences with sexual violence.
MACON - Mercer University's Students for Environmental Action are sponsoring a series of events for Earth Week 2008, April 15-22, organized under the title, it "Feels Good to be Green." The SEA will hold several student events, including the weeklong "Go Green!" Campaign, encouraging students to take steps toward a greener future. The SEA will also host a number of free public events.

MACON - More than 200 Mercer University students will show off what they have learned at the University Center on Mercer's Macon campus. The students will showcase their talents on Friday, April 18, as part of two events, the Inaugural Engineering Expo and the Second Annual Mercer University Undergraduate Research Symposium. Both events will take place from 2 - 5 p.m.
The following students were named to the dean's list at Mercer University for the 2007 fall semester. Inclusion on the dean's list requires students to meet rigorous grade point average standards specific to their school within the University.
