ATLANTA - Southern School of Pharmacy of Mercer University is one of only two private pharmacy schools selected to compete in the national Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Competition of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and the Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy (FMCP). Macon and Atlanta-In January, Mercer University established a Tsunami Relief Committee to raise $15,000 from the university community to support the recovery efforts in South Asia hit by the Dec. 26, 2004, disaster. Mercer faculty, staff and students have been participating in a variety of activities. The next big fundraiser is Bandfest, a benefit concert featuring contemporary Christian artists "By the Tree" at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, in Willingham Auditorium on the Macon campus. Tickets are $5 for Mercer and Wesleyan students, faculty and staff and their families; $8 for a groups of 15 or more from outside of the University; and $10 for general admission. MACON, Ga. - In a time when superior performance in athletics and academics don't always go hand-in-hand, Mercer University men's basketball junior forward Will Emerson has successfully combined the two. He was named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-America first team, the day after he was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference first team.
