On May 1, the Mercer University School of Engineering and the Information Science and Technology (IST) department will host the Nortel Networks NetworksXpress Mobile Showcase and Solution seminars in the Mercer University Macon Campus Auxiliary Services area. Mercer University is an end user of several Nortel Networks products.
MACON-Mercer University head men's basketball coach Mark Slonaker has agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep him at Mercer through the 2008 season. Slonaker had one year remaining on a four-year agreement that was signed in 1999.

WHY: At the Association of Women Law Students' (A.W.L.S.) charity auction, student MIke Voynich paid $80 to exchange places with Dean Sabbath for a day. On April 21, the switch will take place with Voynich leading staff meetings and conducting the business of the Law School while Dean Sabbath will be attending Voynich's classes. The A.W.L.S. auction generated more than $10,000 for a battered women's center in Baldwin County and the Macon Rescue Mission.

Atlanta-With literacy being the cornerstone of a child's education, students and teachers in Mercer University's Tift College of Education are learning how to creatively bring the excitement of reading to the kids in their classrooms.
