MACON – The closing concert of Mercer University's 2015-16 Fabian Concert Series will feature an all-faculty ensemble, The Cortona Trio, on Tuesday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $12 each and are available at the box office in Fickling Hall at the McCorkle Music Building or by calling (478) 301-5470. Mercer University faculty, staff and students with any valid student I.D. receive one ticket free.

Violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti, who serves as director of the University's Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, along with distinguished faculty artists Elizabeth Pridgen, piano; and Julie Albers, cello; comprise the Cortona Trio. Formed at Mercer, the trio performs around the world and played the Rome Chamber Music Festival in Italy last year. The concert will also feature special guest and McDuffie Center artist Rebecca Albers, viola.

The Caroline Paul King Chair in Strings, Moretti developed the Fabian Concert Series, which features renowned musicians from around the globe in the intimate Fickling recital hall on the University's campus.

“It feels like the Fabian Concert Series has been one highlight after another this year,” said Moretti. “So many wonderful guest artists have performed on the Fickling stage, alongside our amazing students and Center faculty.”

The trio will close out the season with Brahms' Piano Quartet in G minor. “These pieces are lively and celebratory,” said Moretti. “It's fitting that this performance features all faculty from the Center and Mercer.”
