MACON — McEachern Art Center (the MAC) will present more information about the upcoming season at a locally driven pop-up show, “Out to Launch,” this weekend. This show will run only May 2-3.

The MAC Director Johnny Cohen will reveal the 2025-26 calendar at 7 p.m. May 2 as part of downtown Macon’s First Friday celebration. The season will feature five major gallery exhibitions from artists around the Southeast, including the third annual Winter Artist Market and yearly Mercer University senior art and design show.

Additionally, the MAC will take on several artist workshops for continued development of artists and community members, a summer show that features Middle Georgia talent, and a continued relationship with artists who are citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. This is in fulfilling the MAC’s mission to advance emerging artists and be a place that the community can contemplate art with care.

The pop-up exhibit features Travis Hart, Kris Davis, John Masters, Noreen White, Evelyn Ullrich, Nylah Anderson, Gracen Bohling, William Dietrich, Johnny Cohen, Anna Richards, Mokshitha Katkoori and Theresa Rosengart.

This event also marks the opening of the MAC membership drive for the upcoming year. Season memberships for the 2025-26 season are now available for purchase for $100 per year. This fee entitles members to a 10% discount off all fine art in the gallery, a 25% discount off the MAC merchandise like T-shirts and vinyl stickers, a unique artist-designed takeaway from every show, exclusive priority registration for artist talks and workshops, all workshop fees waived, and an exclusive member celebration once per year.

Season memberships can be purchased here and help support the MAC to have the ability to present comprehensive, year-round fine arts programming.

“I look forward to the first comprehensive season launch party to celebrate our devoted patrons and ensure that the MAC continues to be Mercer’s ‘front porch’ to the wider Macon community,” said Cohen. “We welcome artists of all disciplines and at different levels of their careers, and we hope to show museum-quality exhibits in a gallery setting, elevating the art scene in the region. We’re definitely ready to launch, and we want to share that excitement with you.”

After the pop-up exhibit this weekend, the MAC will open its summer show “Entities” on June 6, featuring local artists Sierra Bush, Jackson Griffith, Anna Noel and Chris Friday. “Entities” will run through mid-July.

The MAC is located at 332 Second St. in downtown Macon. Admission is free and open to the public during gallery hours, 4-8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays. Media and educators may access the gallery outside of normal hours by appointment.
