Viral a capella group Voctave comes to Macon with Disney and Broadway hits

MACON — Townsend School of Music will present acclaimed vocal group Voctave as part of the 2024-2025 Jubilee Artists Series. The show will take place Feb. 13 at the Piedmont Grand Opera House. Tickets are available now.

Voctave’s 11-member vocal ensemble brings incredible harmonies to favorites from the Disney screen to the Broadway stage. This a cappella sensation has had over 160 million social media views of their videos and has appeared on countless recordings. 

Their popular show “The Corner of Broadway & Main Street” spawned an album with top 10 debuts on the Billboard and iTunes charts. The group said its show is appropriate for the whole family, and the Feb. 13 date makes it a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with an evening out. The Orlando Sentinel raved that, “Voctave brings vocal magic.”

Townsend School of Music Dean Gary Gerber said, “Voctave will bring the energy and excitement of a well-crafted vocal ensemble to Macon. Their popular songs will feel accessible and fun for audiences.”

“Through the invisible hands of music, the soul is touched and healed,” Josephine “Jo” Phelps Fabian said. In her life, Fabian was a dedicated arts patron, donor, board member and advocate who loved classical music and opera. She frequently attended concerts at Townsend School of Music. 

Through The Fabian Center for Musical Excellence, the Jubilee Artists Series features leading artists performing concerts that are free or low cost to the public, making the best of music available to all.

After Voctave, the season will close with Anton Nel, prize-winning pianist, on March 25. Nel has enjoyed a remarkable and multifaceted career playing across six continents with an active repertoire of more than 100 works. Tickets can be purchased now at this link.
