Mercer to Hold Free Community Health Fair

ATLANTA – Mercer University’s Southern School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine, Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and Mercer Health Systems will hold a Free community health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Sheffield Center on the University’s Atlanta Campus, 3001 Mercer University Dr., just off Chamblee Tucker at Exit 94 on I-85 North.
 
Students will provide screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol and osteoporosis. Participants can also bring their current prescription, non-prescription and herbal drugs for review and consultation. Information will be given on exercise programs, weight-loss and meal-planning, smoking cessation, substance abuse, breast cancer, AIDS and more. Foot examination and evaluation by podiatrist Dr. Frank Sinkoe of Decatur and chair massage therapy by the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts will also be provided.
 
All screening participants must be 18 years or older.
