MACON – The Grand Opera House, Central Georgia’s exclusive presenter of professional touring Broadway performances, announced the five shows selected for the 2012 – 2013 Butler Lexus Broadway Series prior to performances of Damn Yankees, the final show in the current Broadway season. The 2012-2013 season includes five musicals that have never before performed in Macon, two of which are on their inaugural national tour.

The season opens with Laverne & Shirley star Cindy Williams in Nunset Boulevard, Oct. 16 and 17. This sequel to the popular musical Nunsense takes the Little Sisters of Hoboken from New York to Hollywood. Hilarity ensues.

Then jump, jive and jam as six guys turn tap upside down in Tap Dogs, Nov. 6 and 7. This international, award-winning show is part theatre, part dance and part rock concert with incredible numbers performed in water, upside down and on scaffolding.

Travel the world with Catch Me If You Can, the high-flying new musical comedy based on the hit movie and incredible true story that inspired it, at The Grand on Dec. 3 and 4. Follow Frank W. Abagnale Jr. as he uses boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks to successfully pose as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams, all the while on the run from a dogged FBI agent hot on his trail.

A cast of Broadway’s best and brightest stars bring Broadway’s latest and greatest shows to life in Hot on Broadway, March 1 and 2, 2013. Enjoy the “best of Broadway” with incredible song and dance numbers from Tony Award-winning shows including Wicked, The Lion King, Hairspray, Rent, Nine, Les Miserables, Jersey Boys and more.

The Broadway series ends with one weird and wonderful family that comes to devilishly delightful life in The Addams Family, April 30 and May 1, 2013. The magnificently macabre new musical comedy created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice celebrates The Addams’ hilarious struggle to maintain their own family values in spite of their new “normal” friends.
