There’s no better way to celebrate Family Weekend than by watching the Bears on the gridiron. Mercer takes on Samford at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Five Star Stadium in Macon. Here are three things to know before you go.
Mercer is undefeated in the SoCon

The Bears have won all three of their Southern Conference games so far this year and will be looking to continue that streak when they face Samford. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have lost all five of their games this season.
Tyler Braden headlines game day concert

Pre-game festivities start at 10 a.m. on Black Field, culminating at 1:45 p.m. with a performance from country musician Tyler Braden, whose song “Devil You Know” was certified gold with more than 335 million global streams. Leading up to the show, fans can enjoy the Fall Line beer garden and Dr Pepper Fansville, featuring inflatables for kids. At 1:30 p.m., join us for the Bear Walk as the football team, band and cheerleaders make their way to Five Star Stadium.
Family Weekend activities planned for Black Field

The Office of Campus Life will hold a special tailgate for Family Weekend from noon-3 p.m. on Black Field. There will be free treats while supplies last and a free photobooth for families. In addition, a barbecue lunch will be available for those who purchased lunch tickets. Families who haven’t yet registered for Family Weekend can do so for $25 at the tailgate. Football tickets are sold separately. A limited number of Family Weekend T-shirts will be available for $7 each.
