ATLANTA- Mercer University will offer a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation course from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays from May 24 - June 28. Offered on the University's Cecil B. Day Atlanta Campus, this six-week course is designed to help individuals score their best on the GRE and get them one step closer to graduate school.

Jones succeeds Mercer Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator Sybil Blalock, who served as interim coach for the 2006-07 season. Blalock took over in August 2006 when Brenda Welch-Nichols departed for the head coaching position at Sam Houston State University.

The Legal Writing Program at the Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University is the top-ranked program among all of the law schools in the nation as announced today by U.S. News and World Report. The 2008 edition of America's Best Graduate Schools lists Mercer's program first in the country after a ranking of second in 2007 and tied for first with Seattle in 2006.
ATLANTA - D. Steven Wilson, Pharm.D., owner and pharmacist of Carter's Pharmacy in Smyrna, has been named to the eight-member Georgia State Board of Pharmacy. Appointed by Governor Sonny Purdue, he is one of the seven licensed practicing pharmacists who serve on the board that is responsible for the regulations of pharmacists and pharmacies in the state. The state board of pharmacy reviews applications, administers examinations, licenses qualified applicants and regulates the practice of licensees throughout the state.
The excitement of the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta will kick off early Friday morning and nearly 50 Mercer students will be on hand to join in the excitement. The Georgia Dome is the host site Saturday and Monday for the NCAA basketball finals and CBS is the network originating coverage for the Final Four.
MACON - Mercer University's chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the first-year honor society, will celebrate its 75th anniversary Saturday at 6 p.m. in the University Center Arena. Several honored guests will be on hand to mark the occasion, including Mercer President William D. Underwood and the head of Phi Eta Sigma's national organization, Dr. John W. Sagabiel.
