MACON, Ga. — Mercer University celebrated faculty achievement at its 2026 Faculty Awards Ceremony held April 13, as 10 of the University’s 12 schools and colleges presented awards at the event.

Additionally, Dr. Katherine A. Roseau, associate professor of French in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was awarded the 2025-2026 Innovations in Teaching Award, co-sponsored by the Vulcan Materials Company, Georgia Independent College Association and Mercer University.

The various awards from the respective schools and colleges were presented as follows:

Dr. Rachael Goodman, assistant professor of anthropology and global development studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, received the Spencer B. King Jr. Distinguished Professor Award.

Monica Armstrong Roudil, J.D., associate professor of law in the School of Law, received the Judge Clyde Reese Board of Visitors’ Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. T. Vivian Liao, clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice in the College of Pharmacy, received the College of Pharmacy Educator Award.

Dr. Szabolcs Blazsek, professor of economics in the Stetson-Hatcher School of Business, received the Distinguished Faculty Award.

Dr. Michael Fleming, assistant professor of environmental and civil engineering in the School of Engineering, received the Clayton R. Paul Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Deana Ford, associate professor of educational research in the Tift College of Education, received the Cathryn Futral Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Kathy E. Davis, clinical assistant professor of nursing in the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, received the Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year Award.

Dr. Gregory A. Baugher, associate professor of mathematics in the College of Professional Advancement, received the Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Katie Rios, associate professor of music history in the Townsend School of Music, received the Outstanding Faculty Award.

Dr. Daniel Dale, clinical associate professor of physical therapy in the College of Health Professions, received the Excellence in Teaching Award.

Michael Marcoux, lecturer of industrial engineering in the School of Engineering, received the Excellence in First-Year Student Advising Award.
