Nearly 1,000 Mercer students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community, will look for answers to those questions this week at Mercer's conference, titled "Caring for Creation: A Scientific and Theological Response," Oct. 29-31.
MACON- Recent studies show as much as 10 percent of college students decide to transfer to another institution during or after their freshman year. Some students discover the college or university they selected as a high school student is not the perfect fit for them. The institution may be too large or too small or it may not provide the collegiate experience that the student had hoped to have. Other students may elect to start their studies at one institution and transfer into a degree program that is better tailored to their future career path. MACON - Mercer's Alpha Delta Pi sorority kicks of its major philanthropic fund-raising event of the year tonight. The second annual Hoops 'n Hogs, a barbecue and student basketball tournament to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House, begins at 4:30 p.m. when the Basketball Tournament tips off.   The tournament continues on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The tournament's championship game will be played during halftime of the annual Coaches vs. Cancer men's basketball exhibition between Mercer and Georgia College and State University on Thursday. Atlanta- After a strong turnout at the first set of workshops, Mercer University will offer a second round of two preparation workshops for the Praxis I exam on Nov. 15 at the Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta. One workshop will focus on the Praxis I math section, and the other will focus on the verbal section of the exam. Both workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Space is limited. Registration is required. To make a reservation, contact Angie Macon at (678) 547-6501 or macon_am@mercer.edu.
