ATLANTA- The Hon. Sharon Cooper addressed nearly 90 candidates receiving nursing degrees at the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University's Commencement, held May 1 on Mercer's Atlanta campus. A highlight of the ceremony was the graduation of the College's first class of students to earn the master of science in nursing degree.
MACON, Ga. - The Mercer Athletics Department's annual "Big Auction" is set for May 27 at the University Center.
The "Big Auction" is a fund-raiser for Mercer athletics and has hundreds of items available, varying from a pickup truck to a weekend of Atlanta Braves baseball to sports memorabilia.
There is also a silent auction, which features some of the most delicious treats in Macon.
"Every year this event gets better and better," said Mercer athletics director Bobby Pope. "This year we have some great items available, especially in the sports memorabilia where we have autographed baseballs by several major leaguers and Hall of Famers Harmon Killerbrew and Don Sutton."
The "Big Auction" is set to begin at Noon with the silent auction. The live auction starts at 7:30 p.m. at the University Center.

(Macon and Atlanta)- The Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics of Mercer University has been inducted into an elite group of business schools worldwide who have received accreditation from AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Mercer School of Business received an official certificate marking its accreditation at a special ceremony in Montreal, Canada, on April 18. Of the 13 universities to receive initial accreditation at this year's AACSB International annual conference, only six are in the United States, with Mercer being one of them.

Macon and Atlanta- More than 1,600 students are expected to participate in graduation ceremonies on Mercer's Macon and Atlanta campuses over the next month. The University will hold nine commencement ceremonies and hear from an array of renowned speakers.
Mercer University President R. Kirby Godsey will also present three honorary degrees. Larry Braden, president of Lacey Drug Company, will be presented an honorary doctor of sciences degree on May 1 at the Southern School of Pharmacy commencement.
