Students of the Mercer Wind Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at The Grand Opera House in downtown Macon. Dr. Douglas Hill, director of Instrumental Ensembles at Mercer University, will serve as conductor for the ensemble. The event is free and open to the public. MACON-Mercer University School of Engineering students recently swept the Undergraduate Research Competition at the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Southeastern Section Conference in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mercer biomedical engineering students Kala Cartwright of Milan and Stephanie Jackson of Bartlett, Tenn., were awarded the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award for Undergraduate Research for their research poster, entitled "Impact of Atherosclerotic Occlusion Position on Hemodynamic Parameters in the Coronary Artery." The two students used advanced computer programs to model blood flow in coronary arteries and examined the effects on hemodynamics caused by plaque occlusions.

ATLANTA- Beginning on May 19, Mercer University will offer a preparation course for the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). A program of Mercer's College of Continuing and Professional Studies, the course will be offered on Mercer's Cecil B. Day Graduate Campus in Atlanta on Thursdays from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. between May 19 and June 30.

ATLANTA - Four students at Southern School of Pharmacy of Mercer University graduated May 7 with perfect 4.0 grade point averages, not an easy feat in such an academically rigorous environment. In recognition of their achievement, the School awarded each of them with the prestigious R.C. Hood Award, the highest scholastic award offered by the Southern School of Pharmacy.
Professor Adam Milani, who had taught at the Mercer University Law School since 1997, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 11, following complications from surgery. Professor Milani was one of the leading experts in the country on disability law and legal writing.
