Stop wasting money by throwing away old clothes that can be easily mended.

In our latest How Do You Do That? video, Mercer University alumna Lauren Parris demonstrates basic sewing tips that will extend the life of your clothes, including hemming pants, sewing a button and repairing a tear or hole. (She also offers a great pro tip for knotting your thread.)

Parris, a French major, graduated in 2012. While at Mercer, she worked in the theatre program’s costume shop with Costume Designer Shelley Kuhen. Now a French teacher at Stratford Academy in Macon, she continues to help out in the costume shop as needed.

How Do You Do That? is a series in which Mercer faculty and staff share helpful tips and tricks to get you through life.
