‘Echoes of Sound’ and ‘Bloom’
Two new art installations are coming to downtown Macon. “Echoes of Sound,” created by artist Megan Mosholder, will debut from with an event from 7-10 p.m. March 21 at Poplar Street Park. Her artwork blends light, sculpture and dynamic sensory elements to celebrate Macon’s musical heritage while embracing the city’s cultural evolution. Right after, be sure to check out “Bloom,” a vibrant activation of downtown storefronts at Loom Comfort Kitchen and 3rd & Cherry, featuring works by artist Elise Williams. These installations, part of Paint Macon Pink, are designed to highlight the beauty and creativity of Macon and will be on display thanks to a partnership between NewTown Macon and DASH, with support from an anonymous donor through the Community Foundation of Central Georgia.
A record-breaking event
Don’t miss your chance to be a part of a world record-breaking event! On March 28, join me at the Atrium Health Amphitheater for an official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest kazoo ensemble. The current record of 5,190 participants was set in London in 2011, but Macon hopes to blow that number out of the water. A $5 ticket gets you a kazoo, and all you need to do is show up and be part of the fun.
