The Mercer University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Douglas Hill, director of Instrumental Ensembles, College of Liberal Arts, will present its fall concert,  A Night of Latin Fantasies, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18. Mercer University is now offering a Public Safety Leadership Institute (PSLI), which began Jan. 7 on Mercer's Atlanta campus. The Institute is designed to examine current leadership models and practices and to create an awareness of the knowledge, skills and attributes of a successful leader in the public safety environment. The PSLI has been a collective effort of Mercer's Tift College of Education and the Division of Extended Education.
ATLANTA - Fourteen national and regional authors, including best-selling and award-winning Southern writers Steve Berry, Terry Kay, Hank Klibanoff and Ferrol Sams, will be featured at the 18th annual Mercer University Press Authors Luncheon. (MACON) Mercer University will host its annual Holiday Open House at the Woodruff House Tuesday-Thursday, Nov. 29-Dec. 1, 6-8 p.m. nightly. The Woodruff House, one of Macon's grand antebellum homes, is located at 988 Bond St., adjacent to the University's Walter F. MACON - Mercer University's Townsend School of Music will present A Grand Mercer Christmas, a free concert for the community, on Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at The Grand Opera House, a performing arts center of Mercer, located at 651 Mulberry St. in historic downtown Macon. ATLANTA - Results of a new poll of Southern Evangelicals on their attitudes toward torture and its connection to their faith and moral values will be released next month in conjunction with a national summit on torture sponsored by 15 diverse faith groups. The conference, titled "Religious Faith, Torture, and Our National Soul," will convene on Mercer University's Atlanta campus Sept. 11-12.
