WASHINGTON, D.C., - District III of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) names Mercer University President R. Kirby Godsey the recipient of the 2002 Chief Executive Leadership Award for extraordinary service and leadership in advancement and education.

ATLANTA - In light of world events since Sept. 11, 2001, a renewed focus on the apocalypse is gripping Christians in America, and many have been intrigued by Biblical prophecies for years.
Atlanta - After nearly 100 years of calling downtown Atlanta home, Georgia Baptist College of Nursing (GBCN) has moved 15 miles up I-85 to Mercer University's Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus and to a new state-of-the-art facility.
"Alumni are very grateful for the long support of Dean Gunby, and we are very happy to honor her with this gift," said Dare Domico, a 1968 graduate who serves her alma mater as an associate professor. "The beginning of the graduate program has been a dream of Dr. Gunby for several years, and we share in the excitement that it will soon be a reality."
For the third time within a year, a representative from the Mercer Law School will appear on Jeopardy, the popular night-time television game show.

The Ninth Annual Claude Smith Golf Tournament, to benefit the Mercer baseball program, tees off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 12.   Registration begins at 8 a.m.   This year's tournament, one of many Athletic activities set that day, will be held at Oakview Golf and Country Club, Hartley Bridge Road, Macon. Golfers should RSVP Claude Smith Jr. or Natalie Baker by April 5 as an individual -- seeking to be paired with a group, or as a foursome. Cost is $100 a person which includes lunch, gifts and golf.   Following the golf tournament, a barbecue will be held at the Religious Life Center on the Macon campus from 4:45-5:30 p.m.   The Athletic Hall of Fame Induction will be held at Claude Smith Field at 5:45 p.m. preceding the Mercer vs. Stetson baseball game at 6 p.m.
